- "They should have every faith that these guys can come back," said Higinio Vélez, Cuban Manager - from the International Herald Tribune, in the aftermath of Cuba's 6-0 second round loss to Japan. Cuba will be fuming and ready to pound Mexico in their elimination game.
- The crowd applauded when Venezuela manager Luis Sojo took Ordonez out of the game after the seventh inning. - from the Associated Press, as Team Venezuela has to deal with its own fans booing Magglio Ordonez for his association with President Hugo Chavez. We advise to stay away from any game day props involving Ordonez.
- Kim's homer was one of three solo blasts by right-handed hitters against Mexico starter and former Padre Oliver Perez. - from the San Diego Union-Tribune, after Korea pounded Mexico's pitching.
